Networking and keeping up to date: vets, IPRAVI, suppliers, training, and how to stay current
A technician's knowledge has an expiry date. Strains change, feeds change, rules change, the climate itself changes: the expert who lives on what he learnt five years ago gives five-year-old advice. What protects him is not an exceptional memory, it is a network of people he can call and a habit of keeping watch, that is, regular time spent learning what has changed. This lesson teaches you to draw your network, to know whom to call for what, to organise a watch that fits in one hour a week, and to sort the sources so as not to confuse information with advertising.
