His story

  1. Agnibilékrou

    Growing up in Agnibilékrou

Lebanese by origin, Abdul Hussein Chouman has lived his whole life in Côte d'Ivoire. He went to primary school in Agnibilékrou, then to secondary school at Collège Ekra Mathieu, and passed his baccalaureate in Agnibilékrou.

He grew up alongside his parents. His father, Chouman Abbas, built his life there with his own hands: first a trading business, then a commercial laying-hen farm.

  2. Lebanon

    A degree in biology

After the baccalaureate, he went to Lebanon to study biology at the Lebanese American University (LAU), where he earned his bachelor’s degree.

He has put this scientific training to work ever since: chick health, biosecurity, the day-to-day running of a farm.

  3. 2001

    Back to the family farm

In 2001, he came back to Côte d'Ivoire and joined his father on his commercial laying-hen farm. Poultry farming became his passion: he learned, watched and understood how a farm works, day after day.

As an entrepreneur, he set himself a goal: to take the family farm to a more advanced level of management and productivity.

  4. 2006

    The birth of NEXTEKCI

On 1 June 2006, he founded NEXTEKCI in Agnibilékrou, with a conviction that has not changed since: for people to have access to chicken, farmers must first have access to good chicks.

What he has built

Around the hatchery, NEXTEKCI holds official approvals for:

  • day-old chick production
  • a breeder farm
  • importing day-old chicks and hatching eggs
  • feed manufacturing
  • a poultry slaughterhouse

The company is a member of IPRAVI, the Ivorian poultry interprofession. It offers six types of chicks (white broiler, red broiler, barred grey, hybrid, white cockerel and brown layer), available throughout Côte d'Ivoire through partner carriers on three routes.

What he passes on

The hatchery's know-how, free for every farmer, signed with his name.

“With NEXTEKCI, we do not just sell chicks. We pass on expertise, we share a passion and together we are building the future of Ivorian poultry farming.”
