What you are looking for, what we offer

Each popular name explained simply, with its real equivalent in the NEXTEKCI range.

Looking for ‘Sasso’ or ‘red chicken’?

The name ‘Sasso’ refers to a famous family of coloured broiler breeds, hardy and moderate-growing, much sought after in West Africa. NEXTEKCI does not sell official Sasso: what we offer is the red broiler, our chicks with red/russet plumage that belong to the same family of coloured broilers as the Sasso, Redbro or ColorYield type breeds. They are selected for the Ivorian tropical climate and give the firm red chicken that the local market appreciates.

Looking for ‘Kuroiler’ or ‘black broiler’?

‘Kuroiler’ is the name of a hardy breed with dark plumage, often requested under the name ‘black broiler’ in Côte d'Ivoire. At NEXTEKCI, the equivalent is the barred grey: a broiler chick with dark barred plumage, comparable to what is sought under ‘Kuroiler’, without being an official Kuroiler. It is an improved traditional breed, highly valued for semi-free-range rearing and backyard flocks thanks to its hardiness.

Looking for an ‘improved local hybrid’?

Many farmers ask for an ‘improved local hybrid’ or ‘improved hybrid’: a chicken from crosses, more robust than a white broiler and more productive than a local chicken. At NEXTEKCI, this corresponds to the hybrid: a mix of colours available in red, barred grey or mottled, which combines decent growth, hardiness and good value on the market.

Looking for ‘coloured broilers’ in general?

‘Coloured broiler’ is the umbrella term that covers all our coloured broiler chickens: red broiler, barred grey and hybrid. If you are hesitating between the three, our team advises you free of charge by WhatsApp on +225 05 44 83 27 79 according to your building, your budget and your market. You will also find the details of each breed on the page dedicated to coloured broiler chicks in Abidjan.

Frequently asked questions

Does NEXTEKCI sell official Sasso chicks?

No. NEXTEKCI does not market the Sasso brand. We offer the red broiler: red/russet chicks from the same family of coloured broilers as the Sasso, Redbro or ColorYield type breeds, produced in our Agnibilékrou hatchery since 2006.

Where can I find Kuroiler in Abidjan?

If you are looking for a ‘Kuroiler’ or ‘black broiler’ type chick, the NEXTEKCI barred grey is the closest equivalent in our range: dark barred plumage, hardy, suited to semi-free-range rearing. It is delivered to Abidjan (Yopougon) every Tuesday and Friday from 6 am.

What is the difference between improved hybrid and coloured broiler?

‘Coloured broiler’ covers all coloured broiler chickens (red, barred grey, hybrid). The ‘improved hybrid’ is one of them: at NEXTEKCI, the hybrid is a mix of colours from crosses, available in red, barred grey or mottled.

Are your coloured breeds suited to the Ivorian climate?

Yes. Our breeders are selected to high standards and production takes place in Côte d'Ivoire, in Agnibilékrou, for adaptation to the tropical climate. Coloured breeds are known for their hardiness in the face of heat and variable rearing conditions.

How do I order a Sasso or Kuroiler type chick from NEXTEKCI?

Write to +225 07 07 72 78 67 stating the NEXTEKCI equivalent (red broiler for Sasso/red chicken, barred grey for Kuroiler/black broiler, hybrid for improved hybrid), the quantity (boxes of 50) and your town. Ideally pre-order 15 days before the Monday or Thursday departure.
