What is done at the NEXTEKCI hatchery
At NEXTEKCI, the brown layer is vaccinated against Marek's disease right at the hatchery, with a certificate available upon request. Marek's disease is a viral disease in poultry for which the vaccine is administered right at the hatchery: this is why this protection is integrated for future layers, destined for a long career of egg production.
The other breeds — white broiler, red broiler, barred grey, hybrid and cockerel — are not vaccinated at the hatchery: their protection is built later on the farm.
Vaccination continues at your place
Receiving a healthy chick is just the beginning. The rest of the health protocol takes place on the farm, according to a schedule that depends on your breed, your area and your type of farming. Two simple pieces of advice:
