Starting a laying workshop is an investment for the long term: each well-started pullet is a future egg producer for many months. Here’s how to maximise your chances with the NEXTEKCI brown layer.
What you receive at the start
The NEXTEKCI brown layer is selected for egg production: high laying rate and commercial-sized eggs. Two specific guarantees from the hatchery in Agnibilékrou:
- sexed female with a reliability of about 99%: you are raising future layers, not surprise cockerels;
- vaccination against Marek's disease from the hatchery, certificate available upon request — essential protection for hens destined for a long career.
Like all NEXTEKCI chicks, they are shipped in boxes of 50, fed from birth, with complete lot identification.
The start-up: the same fundamentals, even more at stake
A poorly started layer will carry this handicap throughout its production life. The fundamentals from day 0 to day 7 therefore apply with particular rigour:
- heated room before arrival, without drafts;
- immediate lukewarm water upon receipt, before feed;
- dry, clean, and non-toxic litter;
- respected density and soft lighting;
- observation morning and evening, weak subjects isolated.
The NEXTEKCI WhatsApp support assists you during the 72 hours following receipt, with photos and videos to support.
Think long term from day one
Layer farming is a marathon, not a sprint. Three habits to adopt immediately:
- Keep a record: dates, feed, health events. You will manage your workshop with facts, not memories.
- Follow the health protocol: vaccination continues on the farm according to the protocol of your local veterinarian.
- Ensure consistency: layers like routine — same schedules, same actions, constant calm.
Anticipate your order
Departures take place every Monday and Thursday at 10 PM. Pre-order at least 15 days in advance — 3 to 4 weeks during peak demand — specifying "brown layer", your quantity in boxes of 50, and your city.
