Step 1: list all costs, without exception
The classic trap is to forget some items. Step 3: keep the record throughout the flock
A production cost cannot be reconstructed from memory at the end of the cycle. Keep a record from the day of the order: every bag of feed, every expense, every loss, with its date. At the time of sale, you will have your actual production cost per subject — and a basis for comparison for the next flock.
