Level 11 — Making feed on the farm
Formulate, make and check a feed
Cycle 3 — Expert (levels 11 to 15)
Introduction
First level of the Expert cycle. Making your own feed on the farm can save a lot or cost dearly. This level teaches you to decide, then to do: formulation (Pearson square, needs by phase), equipment, buying raw materials, quality control, premixes and additives, layer feed, the licence required in Côte d'Ivoire.
By the end of this level, you will be able to
- ✓Decide whether making feed makes sense for your flock size, and know the licence required
- ✓Formulate a complete broiler and layer feed, phase by phase
- ✓Organise a workshop: grinder, mixer, scale, order of incorporation, hygiene
- ✓Check the quality of raw materials and finished feed
10 lessons · a 5-question quiz after each lesson · a level exam (20 questions, 80%) · verifiable certificate. Lessons open to registered students who have passed the level 10 exam.
