Manure: storage, composting, sale, odours and flies

A flock of broilers leaves tonnes of manure behind it. Many farmers see it as waste to be pushed behind the house; the neighbour smells it, flies multiply in it, rain carries it to the stream, and a fertiliser that vegetable growers are looking for is lost. Well managed, manure becomes a clean, stable, odourless product that sells or feeds your own crops. This lesson teaches you to measure what your farm produces, to store it without nuisance, to compost it properly, and to sell it with your own figures.
