Case study: organise the sale of a flock from A to Z with a schedule

A farmer in the Abengourou area receives 2,000 white broiler chicks on 4 November and wants to sell everything before Christmas, at the best time of the year. He has followed this level: he knows his channels, he has a licensed slaughterhouse offering the service forty minutes away, a freezer, crates and a carrier. What remains is to turn all this into a dated schedule, from the day the chicks arrive to the last bag paid for, and to hold that schedule when the wholesaler changes his mind the day before and the ice does not arrive. This lesson tells the story of that sale from A to Z, with the tables he actually filled in.

What you will learn
  • ✓Build the split of a flock of 2,000 between channels and deduce the target weight and the departure date
  • ✓Write the sales schedule as a countdown, from the day the chicks arrive to the last payment, in a dated table
  • ✓Size each operation: crates, catching team, slaughter sessions, ice, bags, deliveries
  • ✓React to the unexpected without breaking the chain, then draw up the quantified balance of the sale and say what should have been done beforehand
