Preparing for sale: fasting, catching, transport without losses
Forty-two days of work can be lost in a single night: the night of the sale. A chicken caught by one wing, crammed into an overfull crate and transported under a closed tarpaulin at midday arrives bruised, dehydrated or dead, and the buyer pays less for it, or nothing at all. This lesson teaches you to prepare a flock's departure the way you prepare its arrival: a measured fast, catching at night, counted crates, a truck in the cool hours, and a sheet that says how many kilos left and how many arrived.

- ✓Organise the pre-sale fast (8 to 12 hours with water) and put a figure on the weight loss it causes
- ✓Run a night catch without injuries: light, pens, holding by both legs, number of birds per crate
- ✓Organise transport in the cool hours, with air, and calculate the crates and trips needed
- ✓Keep the departure sheet: numbers, weights, dead on arrival, losses in percent
